Access Statement For Glengarth Hotel
Introduction
The Glen Gath
Hotel was built in 1897 as a Victorian private residential home, and was later
converted into a hotel. The hotel has retained a lot of the Victorian features
including stain glass windows and staircase.
There are 14
bedrooms
We also cater
for weddings and small gatherings as the dining room seats up to 50 people.

regular bus service to the town centre, and also taxi services are available.
The town
centre is approx 1.5 miles where there is a variety of shops & public houses
to suit all tastes.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

There are two
entrances for cars which both lead onto a gravelled car park; Parking is for up
to fifteen cars.
Main Entrance & Reception
There is one
main entrance door which has two steps leading to it. first step is 17.5cm high
and second is 14cm high, there is a grab rail to right of doorway and ramp
access is also available
The door leads
to a tiled lobby then to another door which leads to reception.
There is a
step to access reception and is 17.5cm high.
Both doors are
over one metre wide.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
Accesses to
all the hotel facilities are from reception.
The reception
& all function rooms are on one level and fully carpeted.
The stairway
leads from reception to all the bedrooms via a stairway that has an open
banister to right and wall to left, there are eight steps to first landing the a
90 deg turn to another five steps.
To the left of
this landing is a door leading to three single bedrooms. The fire escape is
situated at the end of corridor.
Another 90 deg
turn takes you up six steps to main first floor landing.
The main
staircase is carpeted with rubber treads on steps. and steps are 17cm high, 27cm
deep and 95cm wide
On the first
floor are five double bedrooms and one twin room.
The second
floor is accessed by ten steps again with open banister, and on this floor are a
further three single rooms.
From the first
floor landing another two rooms can be accessed by a staircase of fourteen steps
with a 90 deg turn then another step to reach these rooms which are a single
room and a double room which can be used for a small family.
Public Areas - WC
The public
cloakrooms are on ground floor and are reached though door in reception. There
is area to hang coats, there is a step down to reach both convenience doors.
This area is fully carpeted.
Both ladies
and gents toilets have a floor covering of lino

Take Away & Café
Doors lead
from reception to lounge & dining room & connecting door from lounge to
dining room. Both these areas are fully carpeted and on one level.
The lounge is
spacious area with excellent natural light from two large bay windows & also
wall and floor lights. There is also a licensed bar in the lounge.
The dining
room seats up to 50 people, and again lots of natural light from two large
windows.
All the tables
& chairs can be moved to suit seating arrangements.
